The three-piece setting comprises an upright miniature teacup, a matching saucer, and a small dessert plate, each finished by hand in the classical jewelled porcelain tradition. Rich gilding forms a vibrant contrast across every component. The teacup features a fully gilded interior that reflects warm metallic tones, complemented by a gilded well on the saucer and wide gilt bands encircling the rim of each item. Punctuated droplets of turquoise enamel—frequently described as jewelling—stand in crisp relief directly atop and alongside the burnished gold line work, requiring controlled hand application and separate kiln firings. Decorated by Ken Russell, a ceramic painter who previously worked for Royal Worcester, this miniature group reflects the specialised techniques honed within English porcelain factories. Russell established a reputation for fine ornamental china, drawing inspiration from high Victorian jewelled wares originally perfected by Coalport and Worcester. This trio dates from the 1980s. Each component bears the decorator's backstamp to the underside. The saucer displays a printed 'KCR' mark framed by a beaded border, while the cup base and plate reverse are marked with plain block initials. Proportionally scaled for cabinet display, the cup stands approximately 3 cm tall, while the plate measures roughly 7.5 cm across. The porcelain presents in immaculate order. The applied enamel drops remain intact and well secured, the gilding is uniformly bright without rubbing, and the white porcelain surfaces are free from any chips, hairline fractures, or restoration.
