A small boat bearing the name “ANNA” emerges from a dark, restless sea beneath a luminous, fragmented sky. Deep blacks and blues contrast with pale whites, ochres and touches of red, creating a dynamic composition in which the vessel becomes the focal point. The contrast between the turbulent water and the expansive sky gives the painting a strong sense of movement and atmosphere.

D’Orta’s gestural brushwork and accumulation of paint create a richly tactile surface, combining abstraction with recognizable elements of the maritime world. Rather than offering a literal seascape, the artist builds an image through colour, texture and spontaneous marks, leaving space for the viewer’s own interpretation.

Measuring 110 × 90 cm, the painting has a substantial visual presence and lends itself to contemporary interiors, art collections and spaces where expressive Italian painting can become a focal point.

An engaging work from 2007, notable for its material intensity, atmospheric depth and distinctive balance between abstraction and figurative imagery. This piece has an attribution mark,
