One stag stands tall and alert on slender, tapering legs, his head turned in a watchful gaze beneath a tall, branching rack of antlers, while his companion rests in a graceful recumbent pose, forelegs extended and head lifted, crowned with long, swept-back horns. Hand-carved from wood, the figures show confident, sculptural modeling in the planes of the shoulders, the defined cloven hooves, and the finely pointed antlers. The surface is richly layered, with a deep, smoky brown-black ground showing through patches of weathered cream and chalky white, giving the animals a dramatic, time-worn depth. Visible grain, cracks, and softened edges add a rustic, sculptural authenticity that no new reproduction could replicate. Evocative of a forest tableau, the pair feels equal parts folk art and statement sculpture.

Place these deer in an entry hall, beside a fireplace, in a sunroom, or on a covered porch, or flank a doorway for a dramatic, symmetrical display. They complement Rustic, Organic Modern, Boho, Lodge, and Farmhouse interiors. To care for them, dust with a soft dry brush, avoid water and chemical cleaners, and keep them away from direct sunlight, radiators, and damp conditions to prevent further cracking. Together the pair measures 35.75 inches (908 mm) wide, 15.25 inches (387 mm) deep, and 59.25 inches (1505 mm) high. Condition is fair, with significant finish wear, chipping, abrasions, and cracks, particularly on the standing figure, though both remain structurally sound. Make this evocative pair yours today.
