This exceptional example of Art Deco design represents the pinnacle of early 20th-century weaving. Its striking color contrast and luxurious pile make it a highly desirable piece among antique rugs collectors worldwide.

The expansive central field is rendered in a luminous, shimmering yellow hue, allowing the sparse, delicate floral sprays to float across the surface. This intentional use of negative space is characteristic of the period's modernist sensibilities. Given its significant dimensions, this piece is classified as a large oversized rug, perfectly suited to anchor a grand living space or formal dining room.

The dramatic border system utilizes a deep navy blue, framed by a vibrant band of magenta, creating an arresting visual tension against the soft field. The stylized branches and blossoms within the border draw upon centuries of traditional Chinese iconography, reinterpreted through the bold, saturated dyes favored by Chinese rug workshops during the Republic era.

Woven from high-quality wool, the rug exhibits the characteristic thick pile and soft handle prized in pieces from this provenance. It successfully merges traditional Eastern motifs with the geometric structure and high-contrast palette of Western modernism, defining the aesthetic of Chinese Art Deco rugs that remain highly sought after today.
