Great item coming from New York City estate, we have a great pleasure to offer you this Rare PAIR of … Read more Great item coming from New York City estate, we have a great pleasure to offer you this Rare PAIR of French Empire 19th Century Dore Bronze Sconces. Done in period trademark mix of Neoclassical and Egyptian Revival style, with contrasting flamed dore gilt and black patina bronze. Featured are caryatid female figure dressed in classical drapery, strongly reflect the French First Empire fascination with Egyptian antiquity following Napoleon’s campaign. Imperial Roman style torches on the center with laurel wreath above them symbolizing victory. Each candelabra has two curved arms ending in lightbulb socket, with phenomenal cups below featuring winged lions. These beauty queens were originally made as a candle sconces, then sometimes in 20th century they were electrified, hence the wiring on outside. Chandeliers are in good condition, minimal age / use wear - please see photos. Size is large and impressive 22.5" high, 9.5" wide, and they come 4.25" from the wall. This will be a great decoration in any traditional or mid-century modern home or office! See less
