This is a substantial and exquisitely crafted rectangular wooden box, featuring intricate, deep relief carving across its surfaces. Crafted from a richly grained hardwood with a warm, dark brown patina, the box is constructed with clean lines and a sliding lid mechanism.
The top lid is dominated by a dynamic "Double Dragon Chasing a Pearl" motif. Two writhing, scaled dragons are carved in high relief, surrounded by swirling clouds and a central flaming pearl. The sides of the box are similarly decorated with continuous carved panels featuring additional dragons amidst stylized waves and clouds. The carving is executed with fine detail, creating a highly textured, sculptural surface that contrasts beautifully with the smooth, polished wood.
The box opens smoothly via the sliding lid to reveal a clean, unlined wooden interior with a striking, natural wood grain. It is an elegant and sturdy storage solution for small treasures, documents, or desk accessories, and serves as a stunning decorative accent on its own.
