The circular plate is heavily carved with a traditional narrative scene, often referred to as "Scholars Gathering in a Pine Grove."

The composition features a group of six figures in flowing robes engaged in a leisurely gathering. Some are depicted holding a ruyi scepter and a peach, while others are gesturing toward a large, gnarled pine tree. The scene is set against a complex background of swirling clouds, rocky outcroppings, and a textured, geometric diaper pattern that fills the negative space. The deep carving creates a highly textured, sculptural surface with excellent depth.

The reverse side of the charger is finished in a dark, glossy lacquer with a distinctive, crackled texture. A recessed square seal containing four characters is visible in the center of the back. The charger is displayed upright on a dark wooden easel stand. This heavy, eye-catching piece serves as a stunning focal point for a mantel, console, or collector's display.
