The circular box and its domed lid are heavily carved with traditional motifs. The top lid depicts a dynamic scene centered around a large, stylized fish (a symbol of abundance and surplus), surrounded by various auspicious objects, lotus blossoms, and scrolling waves, all set against a finely textured, geometric diaper background. A prominent carved geometric border frames the central scene.

The sides of both the lid and the base are decorated with a continuous, deeply carved pattern of floral scrollwork and stylized figures, separated by smooth, polished red bands at the rims.

The interior of the box is lined with a dark, crackled black surface. On the flat, black underside of the base, there is a recessed rectangular seal containing four characters. The deep carving and rich color give this piece a striking, sculptural presence. It serves as a stunning decorative accent or a luxurious storage vessel for jewelry and small treasures.
