The body is a warm, creamy white, heavily decorated with colorful, wire-outlined floral and scrolling vine motifs. Prominent, stylized lotus blossoms in shades of deep blue and vibrant turquoise serve as striking focal points against the pale background.

The vessel is topped with a fitted, dark metal lid featuring a complex, pierced lattice pattern to allow incense smoke to escape. The top rim of the enamel body is finished with a dark metal band. The interior of the bowl shows the natural, unglazed metal finish with some surface oxidation.

A recessed rectangular seal containing four characters is visible on the flat, dark metal underside of the base. This substantial, heavy piece serves as a stunning decorative accent for a mantel, desk, or collector's display, or as a functional incense burner.
