This captivating Vintage Chinese Brass Carp Padlock is a brilliant blend of traditional folk art and clever mechanical design. In Chinese culture, the carp is a powerful symbol of abundance and good fortune (representing "surplus year after year").
Unlike standard locks, this is a classic "trick lock" or "puzzle lock." It features intricately cast scales along the body and a stylized head, showing a rich, naturally aged patina that gives it a wonderful antique character. The long, curved locking bar passes through the fish's mouth, adding to its unique sculptural look.
