This is an exquisitely crafted wooden tea caddy or storage box, featuring a striking mix of dark and light woods. The main body is constructed from a dark, richly grained hardwood (likely rosewood), contrasted by lighter, golden-toned wood accents at the top and base rims.
The box features a unique sliding lid mechanism; the top panel slides out horizontally and is decorated with a geometric inlay of crossing golden lines forming a large 'X' within a square border. The most distinctive feature is the side panels, which are inset with square sections of finely woven bamboo or rattan, creating a beautiful textural contrast against the smooth dark wood. The interior is unlined, showing the natural, lighter wood grain.
This solid, well-made box serves as an elegant storage solution for tea leaves, small treasures, or desk accessories, and is a beautiful decorative accent on its own.
