The body is handwoven from flat splints in a dense, even over-and-under weave, with a pronounced ribbed structure that radiates in sweeping arcs from the base and gives the sides a sculpted, almost shell-like rhythm. A thicker rim band, bound with neat wrapped strips, finishes the top edge and secures the handle, which meets the body in a crossed, lashed joint at each side. The finish is a warm, glowing palette of honeyed brown and deep amber, with subtle shifts in tone from strip to strip and a soft, hand-polished sheen where years of handling have burnished the material. Small gaps between the weave let light pass through, adding a lively, open texture against the tight, structured framework.
