Retaining its rich, beautiful finish and authentic factory provenance, this piece seamlessly merges 18th-century traditionalism with premium mid-century execution.
Construction & Superior Craftsmanship
Unlike mass-market reproductions, this premium Maddox piece displays an uncompromising dedication to high-tier cabinet making. The iconic slant-front writing lid is constructed from heavy, genuine mahogany, showcasing a brilliant, unbroken grain pattern. When opened, the lid reveals an exquisite, highly detailed interior gallery featuring graceful arched dividers and a stepped, serpentine layout. The small accessory drawers are masterfully designed with bowed, curved fronts and feature fine, tight dovetail joinery. Inside the drawer lining, the pristine, original gold-and-black woven Maddox bull maker's label remains firmly intact.
The entire bureau sits on a handsomely scalloped lower apron frame, supported by slender, classic Queen Anne cabriole legs ending in elegant pad feet.
