This example was manufactured in Europe by Fehlbaum, the company licensed to produce the Eames designs for Herman Miller in Europe and which later became Vitra. Both the lounge chair and ottoman retain their period “Herman Miller Collection – Designer Charles Eames” labels.

The molded plywood shells are finished in beautifully figured Indian rosewood veneer. They have been carefully restored and refinished, bringing back the depth and warm reddish-brown character of the wood while preserving the vintage appearance of the piece.

The black leather upholstery is largely original and has developed an attractive, supple patina with natural creasing and light signs of use. The ottoman cushion has been professionally reupholstered in new black leather carefully selected to match the original upholstery. The shock mounts have also been renewed.

The chair is in very good vintage condition. The restored rosewood shells retain minor age-related traces, while the original leather shows natural patina, creasing and light wear consistent with age. The bases and metal components show minor signs of use. Please refer to the detailed photographs.
