Rare set of 3 antique Chinese Export blue and white porcelain plates, attributed to the Kangxi period, Qing Dynasty, late … Read more Rare set of 3 antique Chinese Export blue and white porcelain plates, attributed to the Kangxi period, Qing Dynasty, late 17th–early 18th century. The Kangxi reign dates from 1662–1722, and blue-and-white export porcelain from this period is well represented in major museum collections.

Each plate features traditional underglaze cobalt blue decoration on a pale blue-white porcelain ground. The central design depicts flowering branches and foliage surrounded by a scrolling border. The wide molded scalloped rims are divided into decorative panels containing alternating floral motifs and dotted geometric elements.

The reverse is also decorated in underglaze blue with scrolling floral and foliate motifs, while the recessed foot is unmarked. The molded petal-form rim and extensive reverse decoration give these plates particularly strong decorative appeal.
