The brass-tone … Read more A framed assemblage of vintage objects, mounted on a crocheted lace ground inside a richly ornamented wood frame. The brass-tone pieces include an embossed arabesque bowl holding a wooden spool of metallic thread, a small jug with a scrolled handle and foliate relief, a domed lid with a finial, scissors with twisted scrolled handles and a tined decorative piece. Bottle caps hold vintage black and white portraits, and they sit beside a rose postcard, a fragment of metallic thread embroidery on net, a small key and a button with an animal relief.

Size: 13.8 x 11.4 x 2.4 inches / 35 x 29 x 6 cm (width x height x depth). The objects stand out from the surface, so the piece reads as a dimensional wall sculpture and invites a closer look. A sturdy wire on the back makes it ready to hang.

Each object is fixed in place on the lace backing, and the raised metalwork gives the surface real depth and texture. The brass-tone pieces carry an aged patina, and the lace, paper and embroidery show gentle wear consistent with age. Only one piece exists, since every object in it is a vintage find.
