This exceptional square piece exemplifies the height of Chinese Art Deco design, characterized by its dramatic use of color and open composition. The vivid red field provides a striking counterpoint to the deep navy border, a hallmark of high-quality blue color rugs from this period.

The design is a sophisticated blend of traditional Chinese iconography and Western Art Deco sensibility. The expansive square field is sparsely adorned with delicate floral sprigs, drawing the eye toward the complex border. Within the border, stylized pagodas, flowering branches, and subtle landscape elements create a narrative scene, typical of the finest antique rugs of the early 20th century.

Hand-knotted from luxurious wool, the pile retains a wonderful luster, allowing the saturation of the primary colors to shift subtly depending on the light. The craftsmanship reflects the meticulous standards of the era, ensuring both durability and enduring aesthetic appeal that transcends fleeting trends.

Given its substantial square dimensions, this piece functions perfectly as a statement room size rugs, anchoring a grand living space or formal dining area. Its bold palette and graphic clarity make it a timeless addition, bridging historical elegance with contemporary design demands. See less
