This is a substantial and exquisitely crafted wooden birdcage, featuring an elegant, barrel-shaped body and a domed top. Crafted from a dark, richly grained hardwood with a deep espresso patina, the cage is constructed with fine, closely spaced vertical bars and horizontal support rings.
The piece is highly decorative. The top cap features intricate mother-of-pearl (nacre) inlay depicting birds and floral motifs, accented with bright green, jade-like cabochons set in metal mounts. The cage is topped with a carved wooden finial and a sturdy, curved brass hanging hook. Inside, the cage is fully outfitted, featuring a textured wooden perch, two blue and white patterned porcelain feeding cups, and a removable wooden base tray.
This large-scale piece serves as a stunning decorative accent, perfect for a sunroom, living area, or as a unique sculptural element in a styled interior.
