A striking mid-20th-century Italian art pottery vase, widely attributed to the renowned Fratelli Fanciullacci workshop of Florence. This highly collectible piece features a dramatic contrasting design, pairing a vibrant, glossy orange-glazed trumpet neck and flared pedestal base with a textured, bulbous central body.
The globular center showcases a finely hand-painted, stylized portrait of a woman rendered in thick, incised black sgraffito lines against a textured neutral background, accented with beautiful splashes of teal-green and cornflower blue glazes. The reverse side continues the textured abstract design, highlighting the handmade, artisanal quality unique to Italian studio ceramics of this era.
The underside base displays the characteristic exposed terracotta earthenware with wheel-thrown texture lines, an authentic black stamped "MADE IN ITALY" mark, and a small handwritten artist production mark in red slip.
