This is an exquisitely crafted wooden storage box featuring a unique swivel top mechanism and intricate mother-of-pearl (nacre) inlay work. Crafted from a richly grained hardwood with a deep, warm reddish-brown patina, the box's exterior sides show a striking, coarse grain texture.
The square top is beautifully decorated with a detailed nature scene, framed by a delicate, scrolling shell inlay border and corner floral motifs. Two birds with vibrant, iridescent green and purple wing feathers are perched on a flowering branch, surrounded by blossoms in pale yellow, pink, and white shell.
The box features a clever design: the top panel swivels open to reveal four separate, removable interior compartments, perfect for organizing small treasures, jewelry, or desk accessories. The box is solid and substantial, serving as both a functional storage solution and a stunning decorative accent for a coffee table, shelf, or vanity.

The wood exhibits a beautiful, deep patina with pronounced natural grain variations. There are minor surface scratches, small dings, and slight wear along the edges and corners, which are typical for a piece of this age. The mother-of-pearl inlay is largely intact and highly iridescent, with a few tiny, isolated areas where the shell appears slightly uneven or has minor fill upon close inspection. The swivel mechanism functions smoothly, and the structural integrity of the box and its interior trays is solid. Please review all photos carefully for a detailed view of the condition. less
