The slender fluted legs and the small top have a Renaissance-revival delicacy. The Renaissance Revival, popular in the second half of the 19th century, looked back to the carved cabinets and architectural forms of 16th century France and Italy, with columns, panels and strong moldings. Its surface carries the gentle marks of age, never overworked or artificially distressed. A table like this brings a sense of history to a corner or a conversation area. See less
