This set of five 20th century oak Tyrolean chairs from France, carved in honey-toned oak with heart-shaped cutouts in the backs. The heart-shaped cutouts and the hand-carved backs are a hallmark of Alpine craft. The carved heart-cutout chairs of the Alpine regions are a long-running craft tradition, made for mountain homes and inns. Signs of age are consistent with its years and part of its quiet appeal. Placed in a living room, library or bedroom, it offers comfort with real presence and sits happily alongside both antique and modern pieces.
