The tall, vertical slats give the chairs a Renaissance flavor. Furniture in the Renaissance manner looks back to the carved cabinets and architectural forms of 16th century France and Italy, with columns, panels and strong moldings that recall the buildings of the age. Age-appropriate wear and a soft patina speak to a long and honest working life. It brings warmth and character to a seating group and rewards the person who sits down in it. See less
