This 19th century Renaissance buffet in original patina from France is made in dark wood with two paneled doors above a plain base. The paneled doors and the dark, aged finish show the architectural character of the style. Furniture in the Renaissance manner looks back to the carved cabinets and architectural forms of 16th century France and Italy, with columns, panels and strong moldings that recall the buildings of the age. Signs of age are consistent with its years and part of its quiet appeal. A piece of this kind earns its place through use, offering storage and presence in equal measure.
