The hand-forged iron grille is the star: a radiating, spider-web pattern that makes the cabinet feel both medieval and modern. Contemporary makers of wrought ironwork in Belgium have kept the blacksmith's craft alive with pieces like this, forged and assembled by hand. Its surface carries the gentle marks of age, never overworked or artificially distressed. Against a plain wall it becomes the quiet focal point of the room. See less
