An exceptional Brutalist dining set made of solid pine, consisting of an extendable dining table and six armchairs, designed in the 1970s by Rainer Daumiller and manufactured by Hirtshals Savværk in Denmark. Daumiller's sculptural furniture in solid pine is among the most sought-after designs of Danish Brutalism today—powerful, honest in its use of materials, and possessing a timeless presence.

These armchairs are, in our opinion, Daumiller's most beautiful chair design: clear in their form, with round legs that terminate in a hemispherical cap at the top and bottom, and a curved backrest and armrests that appear to flow seamlessly from the legs. The ergonomically shaped seat is carved from solid wood and provides surprisingly comfortable seating. The table echoes this design language: the tabletop curves slightly outwards along the long and short sides and rests on cylindrical legs made of solid wood. The tabletop can be extended and is prepared for an extension leaf; however, an extension leaf is not included.

The entire dining set has been completely restored: thoroughly cleaned, sanded, and refinished. The solid pine wood displays its vibrant grain and has a wonderfully soft, warm feel.

Condition: Very good vintage condition – completely restored, freshly cleaned, sanded, and refinished; stable and fully functional. Minor, age-related signs of wear that highlight the character of the wood. No extension leaf included. A rare, striking dining set for loft spaces and exceptional interiors.

Exceptional brutalist dining set in solid pine, comprising an extendable dining table and six armchairs, designed in the 1970s by Rainer Daumiller and produced by Hirtshals Savværk in Denmark. Daumiller's sculptural solid pine furniture is today among the most sought-after designs of Danish brutalism, powerful, honest in its use of material and timeless in presence.

In our opinion, these armchairs are Daumiller's most beautiful chair model: clear in shape, with round legs finished in hemispherical ends at top and bottom, and a curved back and armrest set on top, resting on the posts like a single continuous band. The ergonomically shaped seat hollow is carved from the solid wood and offers surprisingly high comfort. The table picks up this design language: the top is gently bowed outwards on both the long and short sides and rests on cylindrical legs of solid wood. The top pulls apart and is prepared for an extension leaf; the leaf is not included.

The entire set has been fully restored: thoroughly cleaned, sanded and newly lacquered. The solid pine shows its lively grain and has a wonderfully soft, warm feel.

Condition: Very good vintage condition – fully restored, freshly cleaned, sanded and lacquered, sturdy and fully functional. Light age-appropriate signs of use that underline the character of the wood. Extension leaves not included. A rare and expressive dining set for loft spaces and exceptional interiors.
