The lamp features a tall, rectangular walnut column rising from a substantial stepped base, with an integrated projecting shelf positioned at a convenient height for use beside a lounge chair or sofa. Both the shelf and base feature gently rounded front edges, softening the otherwise geometric silhouette.

A slender brass arm sweeps upward from the wooden column before curving outward to support the generously proportioned, shallow conical parchment shade. The original shade retains its beautifully textured surface and distinctive golden cord stitching along the upper and lower edges, lending the lamp an especially warm and inviting character.

A brass rotary switch mounted directly into the wooden column completes the thoughtful design.

Balancing the geometric restraint of late Art Deco with the emerging modernism of postwar Italian design, this distinctive floor lamp is both sculptural and functional. The integrated shelf makes it particularly well suited for use beside a reading chair or sofa, where it offers both illumination and a convenient resting place for a book or drink.

Dimensions: 63.85” overall height. Original parchment shade measures 19.5” in diameter x 6.5” high. Base measures 10.5” wide x 13” deep.

Condition: Good vintage condition consistent with age and use. The walnut retains a warm patina with scattered scratches, minor abrasions, and finish wear throughout. Brass elements exhibit age-related oxidation and patination. The original parchment shade displays surface wear consistent with age. Please see photographs for details. See less
