This exceptional Chinese Art Deco piece captures the bold aesthetic of the roaring twenties, presented in a generous room size format ideal for anchoring a major living space.

The expansive central field is rendered in a saturated, velvety red hue, a defining characteristic of the finest early 20th-century Chinese production. This vibrant color is expertly framed by a deep, contrasting border, creating dramatic visual depth typical of the Art Deco movement's love for high contrast.

The border itself is a masterpiece of stylized ornamentation, featuring intricate scrollwork, subtle dragon motifs, and stylized floral elements rendered in complementary shades. This complex structure elegantly softens the transition between the monochrome field and the dark perimeter.

Woven from high-quality knotted wool, the lustrous pile retains a beautiful sheen that highlights the depth of the dye work. This rug stands as a superb example among collectible antique rugs, offering both historical significance and unparalleled decorative impact for the discerning collector. See less
