It features a decorative central canopy formed from cast and stamped metal finished in a bright nickeled bronze that anchors four arms which descend to support stepped, skyscraper-style molded and frosted glass shades. The metalwork incorporates stylized geometric and flaring motifs around the hub that reflect Machine Age ornamentation and establish a lovely composition. Each shade is a multi-faceted and square-profiled element with impressed geometric panels and a pyramidal lower face that emphasize layered verticality and a coordinated skyscraper design language. The dynamic textural surfaces of the shades soften and diffuse light to accent the metal framework while unifying the overall design language. The result is a balanced fixture that pairs decorative cast-metal center-work with streamlined angular glass forms characteristic of the 1930s while presenting a confident, architectural presence. Its axial symmetry and tiered geometry make it a compelling example of period lighting that evokes urban modernity and architectural optimism of the 1930s. Newly rewired to American Standards and with height that can be adjusted to suit, this piece accommodates four candelabra base bulbs achieving up to 240 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
