A magnificent and elegant pair of vintage Chinese cloisonné deer sculptures, sourced from a private collection. Standing at an impressive 38 cm (15 inches) tall and weighing nearly 6 kg (over 12 lbs) combined, these substantial figures are a breathtaking display of traditional craftsmanship.
Each deer is crafted from solid bronze and meticulously decorated in vibrant cloisonné enamel. The bodies feature a striking turquoise-blue background adorned with intricate, scrolling wire-inlaid gold patterns and stylized red plum blossoms. The sculptural antlers, hooves, and facial details are richly gilded, providing a luxurious, antique patina that contrasts beautifully with the enamel. A traditional red and gold saddle motif is draped across their backs.
