The back plate on this sconce is "one in a thousand" -- it's that rare. And you can see why, considering the design. It takes a 2 1/4 shade opening, and here we have a suitably special German shade made around the same time as the metal. There are no mold marks on the shade, and the diffused light coming through the glass is most attractive. You'll never find a shade that's superior!
The metal (solid brass) has recently been nickel-plated, finished in a soft brushed look. Black has been introduced to the various low places on the metal to give it that antique look in spite of its recent finish.
The brand new porcelain socket and high-heat wire can take any wattage you choose to employ. Two places for screws to go into the wall, for extra-easy mounting. You can also use a metal expanding strap available at a good hardware store, if you want to mount it in a conventional fashion.
Dimensions: 9 inches from the wall to the tip of the shade. The diameter of the base, 5 3/4 inches.
