The elevated form, set on a separate base, gives the chest a refined presence while maintaining a sense of lightness—an elegant solution that was both practical and visually appealing in period interiors.

The drawer fronts display exceptional figuring, with rich, swirling grain that creates a sense of movement across the facade. The configuration offers a pleasing rhythm, with smaller drawers above graduating to larger drawers below, all fitted with classic brass hardware that complements the warmth of the walnut. The base features a shaped apron and distinctive drake feet—an especially appealing detail—adding a touch of sculptural flair and regional character to the piece.

The chest is in nice antique condition consistent with age and normal use. It presents well overall, with expected surface wear including light marks and minor impressions commensurate with its age. There are chips to the corners of two drawer fronts, as shown, and the piece is likely a marriage, though it has been well executed and displays cohesively. The structure is solid and the drawers function as intended. Overall, this is a particularly handsome example of a Queen Anne chest on frame, offering strong visual impact, practical storage, and the added interest of likely Irish craftsmanship. 65h x 41w x 22d See less
