A matched pair of porcelain vases on a crisp white ground, hand-painted in underglaze blue with classic bird-and-flower decoration: a magpie perched on a flowering plum branch (an auspicious symbol) alongside peonies, set with decorative blue handles on both sides.
The surface shows natural age-related patina and staining consistent with a vintage piece. Placed together they bring a balanced, traditional accent to a console, mantel or sideboard.
