Elevate your tablescape with this stunning, complete set of 12 mid-century Japanese damascene dual-purpose tabletop accessories. Masterfully crafted in Japan (circa 1940s–1950s), each piece uniquely multi-tasks as both a secure napkin ring and a tilted menu or place card holder.
The front plaques feature exquisite, traditional "Komai style" mixed-metal damascene work. Fine 24k gold and 950 silver foil sheets are intricately hand-inlaid into dense, black-enameled metal frames. The collection showcases 12 entirely unique cultural and seasonal motifs, including detailed perspectives of Mount Fuji, multi-tiered pagodas, floating torii gates (Miyajima), rural thatched-roof villages, iris gardens, bamboo thickets, and a lone traveler walking through an etched rainstorm with a traditional wagasa umbrella.
The reverse side reveals structured brass-plated shelves with a set of support feet and a wider circular loop configured to seamlessly slide napkins through while presenting a guest's nameplate beautifully above. An exceptional find for collectors of Asian antiquities, Hollywood Regency decor, or an eclectic mid century tabletop dining presentation.

Condition:
