Half-length portrait of a lady seated at a window overlooking a landscape of English countryside. The lady wears a sober, almost severe, black dress, lightened and embellished with refined lace and frills. A few, but significant, jewels can be glimpsed among the lace, worn without ostentation. The lace veil on her head is adorned with small white flowers. The lady holds her spectacles and a lace-edged handkerchief in her lap, held in her hands. The painting is still on its original canvas. It is presented in an early 20th-century frame. A few, but significant, jewels can be glimpsed. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
