This is a copy of the painting created in 1696 by the Dutch painter Jacob De Heusch (1657-1701), and preserved at the Herzog Anton Ulrich-Museum in Braunschweig, Germany. The work was replicated several times in the period following its creation, but the copy presented here is a recent production, subjected to a 'baking' treatment and painted with varnishes to appear antique and consistent with the original. Furthermore, it has been correctly signed in the lower right by the artist of the replica. The painting shows a view of the Tiber River near Tiber Island, with the ruins of the famous Ponte Rotto (the ancient Pons Aemilius), and numerous popular figures engaged in everyday activities. It is presented in a period frame. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
