Elevate your vanity, shelf styling, or kitchen counter with this beautiful mid-century Chinese export tea canister (or decorative caddy) crafted from turned bamboo wood and finished in a warm, glossy amber lacquer.
The front of the cylinder box features a delicately hand-painted Chinoiserie botanical illustration depicting blooming irises with slender green leaves. The reverse side is painted with two crisp calligraphic characters reading "清香" (Qing Xiang), a poetic Chinese phrase translating to "Pure Fragrance" or "Clear, Delicate Aroma"—traditionally used to celebrate high-quality tea leaves or flora.
The underside bears the classic, authentic factory ink stamp reading "Made in China HNA," solidifying its production timeframe to the 1950s or 1960s. The unlined interior reveals a beautiful, clean natural turned wood grain, engineered with a perfectly snug inset rim designed to keep loose tea safely insulated from light and moisture.

Condition:
Very Good Vintage Condition. The exterior amber lacquer coat holds a beautiful, glossy shine with only minor surface wear, small scuffs, and expected factory variations characteristic of mid-century handmade bamboo export pieces. The painted iris artwork remains vibrant and sharp. The interior wood is incredibly clean, dry, and completely free of odors or moisture staining.
