Designed to project from a building or commercial premises, the sign features advertising decoration to both sides together with its integral mounting flange. Its bold lettering and contrasting colours are characteristic of traditional British enamel trade signage from the early decades of the 20th century. The original enamel retains strong, vibrant colour and an attractive glossy surface. Surviving double-sided commercial signs such as this make distinctive decorative pieces and evocative examples of historic British street and trade advertising. Presented in good antique condition with areas of enamel loss, surface wear and age-related marks consistent with its original commercial use and period. The colours remain particularly vibrant and the sign displays well from either side.
