The object is distinguished by its beautiful textural contrasts. The lower half has a deeply tactile surface with hand-carved, vertical grooves that highlight the natural character of the clay. The upper part, the spout and the robust, powerful handle are covered in a warm, semi-matt glaze in terracotta brown. As a sophisticated contrast to the matte exterior, the inside of the jug is glazed in a deep shiny green-turquoise tone. The jug has a fine sculptural presence and works equally well as a decorative vase for seasonal flowers and twigs as a rustic eye-catcher on the set table or sideboard.
