Scottish Vasart art glass vase.
Salvador Ysart arrived in Scotland from Spain in the 1920s. He teamed up with Moncrieffe Glass to produce vibrant colourful glassworks.
His family later continued the work under the name Vasart and later Strathearn.
This vase is a vibrant orange with gold inclusions. Gold was very rare immediate post war making this a unique vase.
The underside was sometimes marked with a leaping salmon. However earlier examples were often ground smooth as in this case. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
