The oak has developed an attractive warm tone that highlights the natural grain and character of the timber. A carved beaded moulding surrounds the inner edge of the frame, providing a restrained decorative detail that complements the strong geometric outline. The design reflects the continuing influence of the Arts and Crafts movement and the renewed interest in traditional English decorative motifs during the early decades of the 20th century. Its emphasis on natural materials, craftsmanship and simple geometric form gives the mirror a particularly versatile character. The original-style mirror plate displays light age-related character and minor spotting, contributing to the authentic appearance of the piece.
