Designed by Archibald Knox for Liberty & Co., this Tudric pewter candlestick is pattern 0223, dating to circa 1902–05. Its organic construction combines Art Nouveau forms with the Celtic Revival ornament associated with Knox’s work. The candlestick measures approximately 23.5 cm high. The underside bears the inscription ‘English Pewter’ and number 0223. It is in very good antique condition, with a dark patina, light surface marks and age-related wear. Small amounts of candle wax remain inside the socket. See less
