Produced from printed tin, the advertising panel is mounted upon a solid oak plinth, giving the piece greater presence while preserving its distinctive period appearance. The original surface has developed an attractive aged patina, with natural wear and marks accumulated through more than a century of use and display. Cherry Blossom was established in Britain in 1906 by brothers Charles and Dan Mason and quickly became one of the country's recognisable names in shoe and boot care. Early advertising material connected with the company provides an evocative reminder of the development of branded consumer products and commercial advertising during the early 20th century. The combination of colourful printed tin and warm oak makes this example particularly decorative and well suited to a collection of advertising, retail or British social-history memorabilia. Presented in original antique condition with visible signs of age, surface wear and patination consistent with its period and historic use.
