The richly figured walnut displays a warm, attractive colour and is extensively carved with sculptural eagles, birds, fruit, flowers and garlands. The combination of naturalistic motifs and bold carving gives the piece a particularly decorative and imposing presence. The chiffonier retains its original grey and white marble, providing an elegant contrast with the walnut beneath. The glazed section also retains its original glass and back. Three doors open to reveal internal shelving, providing generous storage and display space. The cabinet retains a key and separates into two sections for easier transportation and installation. Presented in good antique condition and structurally sturdy. The walnut has been repolished at some point in its history, with minor knocks, marks and general wear consistent with age and use.
