This piece represents a historic tradition where aristocratic donors commissioned custom metalwork sculptures to place within family shrines or temple complexes to symbolize eternal reverence.

The sculpture features a triad of meticulously rendered patron devotee figures posed in deep meditation with hands clasped in the prayerful anjali mudra. The larger central figure is depicted in traditional high-status attire, featuring an elaborate Newari turban, detailed jewelry, and draped sashes, and is flanked by two smaller kneeling attendants or family members. Grounding the rectangular platform are two hand-cast monkey figures sitting at the lower corners, heavily pointing to Hanuman or the sacred guardian monkeys ubiquitous to Himalayan holy sites.

The figures are permanently integrated into an elevated, openwork architectural plinth adorned with geometric lattice cutouts along the front apron. The underside displays a classic lost-wax construction method and an untouched, beautifully aged deep verdigris and chocolate-brown patina that highlights its considerable antique age.

A highly compelling and rare work of Himalayan devotional material culture, perfect as a central focal piece for collectors of fine Asian antiquities or esoteric curiosities. See less
