This exceptional wool piece represents the sophisticated design trends prevalent in the 1930s. Its deep, saturated blue field is characteristic of the period's departure from traditional palettes, offering a striking visual foundation. As a genuine example of antique rugs, this piece showcases masterful hand-knotted construction and enduring quality.

The primary field color is a rich, almost indigo tone, providing a luxurious depth that shifts subtly with the light and pile direction. This stunning use of a monochromatic background allows the sparse, stylized motifs to achieve maximum impact. For collectors seeking blue color rugs with historical resonance, this example offers a compelling combination of saturation and minimalist design.

The design is defined by its elegant simplicity, featuring scattered floral sprays and vines rendered in contrasting cream and pale pink hues. These stylized elements, contained within a bold, stepped border, reflect the transition toward Art Deco aesthetics while retaining traditional Chinese symbolism. Unlike densely patterned examples, this rug's open composition makes it a distinctive addition to the category of floral rugs.

Woven from high-quality wool, the pile remains plush and resilient, indicative of careful preservation over the last century. The generous proportions of this piece ensure it functions perfectly as one of our premier room size rugs, capable of anchoring a formal living space or dining area with its commanding presence and serene coloration.
