An exceptional French Provincial / Louis XV Revival three-drawer serpentine commode by Henredon. This substantial chest features rich, figure-patterned burled drawer fronts set within a warm wood frame, finished with sculpted molded trims and an ornate apron base. The top is fitted with a heavy, thick slab of brown and taupe variegated Italian natural marble with dramatic white veining, contoured perfectly to follow the graceful serpentine curve of the chest. Three spacious drawers slide smoothly and offer ample storage, adorned with elegant cast brass bail handles. The Henredon maker's mark is stamped inside the top drawer, alongside the factory serial stenciling on the rear panel.
Whether serving as a dramatic entryway chest, a bedroom dresser, or a grand hall console, this versatile piece brings timeless European elegance and quality construction to modern or classic interiors.
