The Barbarico Vase was created by Ermanno Nason (1928-2013) for Vetreria Gino Cenedese, circa 1960, using the techniques of applied and hand blown glass. A maestro at the age of 18 it was clear from the beginning he had a special talent and this could be seen in his expert creations of the human figure, animals and plant life. The vase has the appearance of Greek antiquity, excavated having been dormant for 2000 years. This is achieved by firing chemical compounds at a high temperature. We watch as leaves and flowers wrap around the bottle of the vase. There are few of these unusual examples in existence today. Literature: The Martin Cohen Collection-Final Chapter-New York. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
