A striking mid-century modern hollow-blown art glass paperweight or decorative container, expertly crafted in Murano, Italy, and attributed to the renowned glasshouse Fratelli Toso.
This cylindrical piece features an intricately detailed, close-pack multicolored floral millefiori (murrine) pattern in vibrant shades of red, green, blue, yellow, and white. The container is beautifully finished with a smooth, matte satin texture and is topped with a distinctive, applied frosted glass knob. The underside reveals a expertly ground, smooth concave base characteristic of fine, hand-blown Italian glass engineering.
A substantial and highly collectible accent piece, perfect for bringing a pop of sophisticated color to a desk, bookshelf, or vanity.
I love the millefiori pattern and the cylinder shape.

As is common with hand-blown glass from this era, there is a minute, microscopic dark carbon inclusion embedded naturally within the frosted glass knob from the original artisanal firing process. It does not detract from the beauty or structural integrity of the piece. Unsigned, as is typical for Fratelli Toso production of this form. less
