Be Present_ is an architectonic abstraction in which interlocking curvilinear forms create a strong, continuous structure. Deep charcoal and black shapes move across a warm ochre field marked by a subtle underlying grid. The contrast between the dark constructed form and luminous ground produces a shifting relationship between solidity and openness, movement and stability.
Built through layers of oil paint and cold wax, the surface retains variations in tone and texture that soften the painting’s precise geometry. The composition rewards sustained looking as forms connect, separate, and reappear, reflecting the title’s invitation to remain attentive to the present moment.
